High quality Diagnostic Imaging is available to patients with an appropriate referral meeting the clinical indications* and strict Radiography safety guidelines. Rapid Diagnostic Imaging access is available for MRI over 8 years old, Adult & Paediatric X-Ray, DXA, and Ultrasound over 16 year of age.

Please note: A medical referral is required in order to arrange an appointment for a scan.

3 easy steps to getting your scan:

Attend GP/Consultant and get a letter requesting scan
Ask GP/Consultant to send the referral directly to your nearest laya Health & Wellbeing Clinic
Once our specialists have reviewed your referral you will be contacted to arrange an appointment

After the scan, the images will be reviewed by a Radiologist who will report on findings of the scan within 48 hours and the report will then be shared with your referring clinician. Please make an appointment with your referring clinician who will discuss the details of this report with you.

Diagnostic imaging describes various techniques of viewing the inside of the body to help figure out the causes of an illness or injury and confirm a diagnosis. Laya Health and Wellbeing Clinics offer the following diagnostic imaging: Xray, MRI, DXA, Ultrasound and CT.

Please note that not all of our clinics offer all of these services currently and there are some limitations in what can be carried out. Please contact the Laya Healthcare Concierge team on (021) 202 2893 should you require further advise and guidance regarding MRI referrals and we will help you to get access within our network of providers.

X-Ray: 10am-10pm

MRI: 8am-8pm

DXA: 9.15am-5pm Swords / 8am-8pm Galway

Ultrasound: 9am-5pm (Ultrasound clinics run on limited days)

Please note MRI, DXA and Ultrasound scans are by appointment only. Variations on these times may occur

We offer fast access to diagnostic imaging scans much faster than the public system and aim to give you an appointment within 5-10 days.

Can I get an Xray or MRI in the clinics if I am not a laya healthcare member?

Yes, however we do not offer direct settlement for non-laya healthcare members – meaning you will have to cover the cost yourself and claim back from your own insurer.

What happens after my scan? And how to I get my results.
