HeartBeat Plus Cholesterol & Diabetes Screening

According to the Irish Heart Foundation, approximately 10,000 people die each year from Cardiovascular  disease (CVD). CVD is an umbrella term used to describe diseases of the heart, including coronary heart  disease (CHD), stroke, peripheral arterial disease and aortic disease.

Unfortunately, some people who have CHD, present no symptoms of the disease. Screening can be of paramount importance in  identifying risk factors and the silent symptoms that may pose a risk to future health and wellbeing.

This screening can identify many serious health conditions such as hypertension, elevated blood cholesterol, congenital heart defects,  diabetes, hyperlipidaemia and coronary artery disease.

The screening assessment involves the following components:

  • A Personal & Family History Questionnaire
  • Body Mass Index
  • Waist Circumference
  • Blood Pressure Recording
  • Physical Examination with a Doctor
  • Cholesterol Screening
  • Diabetes (HbA1c)
  • 12 lead Electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Consultant Cardiologist Review & Report

The ECG is completed by a qualified cardiac technician or nurse and the physical tests are completed by a qualified doctor. All tests are reviewed by one of our leading consultant cardiologists.
